A local mystery has taken place, with a plane crash just 5 miles north of the city.
30 minutes ago a twin-engine plane went down one mile north of the local airport. The plane was approaching the airport for landing when it crashed into a dense growth of trees, according to airport manager Dave Christopher. No condition reports are available, but a hospital spokesperson confirms that six people from a plane crash were brought in. The Acme Construction company called the news station seeking information about the crash claiming its plane was due in at the same time. Acme Construction says the city manager, a city councilman and the construction company president are among those supposed to be on its plane.

Low temperatures this morning could keep your child from attending school today.
According to the National Weather Service the official low temperature last night was 18 degrees below zero. As a result of this temperature, fewer than half the city's school buses started this morning. Dr. Ken Gray, school superintendent, reports schools will open, but buses will run only on country routes to pick up students who live the farthest from schools. Lincoln elementary will not open because the heating plant failed. Washington Elementary will be open, however, no kindergarten classes will meet today. Despite schools being open, several parents decided to keep their children home. Marjorie Thomas, president of the Washington School PTA, says all the schools should close.
