Ben Tedford

STORY 1

Within the hour, a plane has crash landed on the Northern outskirts of the city and passengers have been taken to the hospital.

Thirty minutes ago, a twin engine airplane crashed landed in a dense growth of trees heading to the airport five miles north of the city.

Condition reports remain unavailable but six people from the crash have been rushed to the hospital.

Suspected aboard the plane were a city councilman and the Acme construction company president.

STORY 2

Due to last nights severe cold and heating plant failure, some schools will close for the day.

Last night the official low reached eighteen degrees below zero leading to the failure of the heating plant. Due to the failure of the heating plant, Lincoln Elementary will not open for classes today, however Washington Elementary will.

Dr. Ken Gray, the school superintendent reports the school will open but since fewer than half the city's buses started this morning, the buses will run only on country routes to pick up students living furthest from school.

President of the Washington School PTA has stated all schools should close for the day. Many parents feeling the same have kept their children home despite the opening of school.

Kindergarden classes will not meet today.
