A twin-engine plane crashed 30 minutes ago into a dense growth of trees one mile north of the local airport, according to airport mangager Dave Christopher. No condition reports are available, but a hospital spokesperson confirmed that six people were brought in for treatment following the crash. The Acme Construction company was expecting their plane in at the same time and is believed to be the crashed plane. Among those supposed to be inside the plane were the city manager, a city councilman and construction company president.

Fewer than half of the city's school buses started this morning after the National Weather Service confirmed last night temperatures reached the official low of 18 degrees below zero. According to school superintendent Ken Gray schools will be open, but buses will only run on country routes to pick up those furthest from the schools. Washington School PTA President say that school should close. Lincoln Elementary will not open due to the heating plant's failure, and kindergarten classes will not meet today either, but Washington Elementary will hold classes.
