Story One

Thirty minutes ago, a twin-engine plane crashed into a dense growth of trees this morning about five miles north of the city.
According to airport manager Dave Christopher, the plane was approaching the airport for landing before it went down amongst the trees.
The Acme Construction company has reported that they had a plane that was due to land around the time of the accident. They say the city manager, a city councilman and the construction company's president are among those believe to be on the plane.
There is no update on the condition of those in the crash, but a hospital spokesman confirms that six people from a plane crash were brought in for treatment.

Story Two

Last night, the heating plant failed resulting in several school closings today, but some schools will still be open to the discretion of many.
The National Weather Service indicated that the official low temperature last night was 18 degrees below zero.
Marjorie Thomas, president of the Washington School PTA, says all schools should close.
However, Dr. Ken Gray, school superintendent, reports schools will open this morning.
Lincoln Elementary is one of the schools that will stay closed today due to the failing of the heating plant, but Washington Elementary will still hold classes.
Fewer than half the city's school buses started this morning. Therefore, buses will run only on country routes to pick up students who live the farthest from the schools. Those who live closer will ned to get to the school on their own.
Several parents have decided to keep their children home for the day despite their school doors being open.
