Jacque Walker

Thirty minutes ago a plane was approaching the airport for landing when it crashed into a dense growth of trees, according to airport manager Dave Christopher. No condition reports are available, but a hospital spokesperson confirms that six people from a plane crash were bought in.

It was 18 degrees below zero last night so some children, buses, roads, and schools will be affected by the cold weather.
Dr. Ken Gray, school superintendent, reports schools will open, but buses will run only on country routes to pick up
students who live the farthest from schools. Fewer than half the city's school buses started this morning. Lincoln Elementary
will not open because the heating plant failed, but Washington Elementary will hold classes. Several parents
decided to keep their children home even though their school was open.
