Story 1

  • A twin-engine plane crashed one mile north of the local airport

  • The plane was approaching the airport for landing when it crashed into a dense growth of trees, according to airport manager Dave Christopher

  • No condition reports are available, but a hospital spokesperson confirms that six people from a plane crash were brought in

  • Acme Construction says the city manager, a city councilman and the construction company president are among those supposed to be on its plane.

  • The Acme Contruction company calls your newsrom seeking information about the crash, saying its plane was due in at the same time

  • The crash happended 30 minutes ago


Story 2

  • The National Weather Service indicates that the official low temperature last night was 18 degrees below zero

  • Dr. Ken Gray, school superintendent, reports schools will open, but buses will run only on country routes to pick up students who live the farthest from schools

  • Fewer than half the citiy's school buses started this morning

  • Lincoln Elementary will not open because of the heating plant failed, but Washington Elementary will hold classes

  • Kindergarden classes will not meet today

  • Marjorie Thomas, president of the Washington School PT, says all the schools should close

  • Several parents decided to keep their children home even though their school was open
